Abstract
What are the tensions, contradictions and paradoxes underlying the current changes in the relationship between the world of work and the field of continuing vocational training? What are the forms of these changes? How do developments in the world of work affect training? Are the roles and positions of those involved in training being redistributed? Does training really contribute to the freedom to choose one's professional future? Are the boundaries that define its themes, standards and mechanisms changing as a result? The thematic issue dedicated to the problems of the dialectic of work and training offers a series of answers, insights and reflections on these questions, opening up epistemological, theoretical and praxeological perspectives.
