Ebersold, S. (2024). Le temps de l’accessibilité. L’Harmattan.

Abstract

Serge Ebersold is a sociologist and Full Professor at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM). His research focuses on the conditions that shape access to education, employment, and citizenship for people in vulnerable situations. His work highlights the relationships between accessibility issues, transformations in public policy, and the emergence of new forms of solidarity and civic participation. He is particularly interested in how social and technological innovations contribute to making social environments more accessible and inclusive. Le temps de l’accessibilité (The Time of Accessibility) was published by L’Harmattan in 2024. In this book, he examines the contours of what he describes as a "new age of accessibility," which, he argues, "invites us to move beyond the conventional discursive uses of this notion shaped by the institutionalization of the field of disability" (p. 11).
