Transformation of the support experience and professonal recognition of people with disabilities

Abstract

This article presents a theoretical and conceptual analysis of the experience of caregivers in the context of professional recognition of people with disabilities. It seeks to understand how a transformative professional reciprocity allows for the reconciliation of ethical imperatives and human values. Thus, how does the recognition of people with disabilities affect the professional experience of caregivers? Based on a review of the scientific literature, it appears that a change in perspective towards vulnerable individuals depends on the subjective engagement of caregivers who are part of support communities inherent to living together.

Keywords: recognition at/of work, research method, scientific approach, support for people with disabilities, transformative experience.
